Modern Family is a comedy television series that follows the Dunphy-Pritchets, a blended family living in California. Jay Pritchett is the patriarch who is remarried to a much-younger Colombian woman named Gloria. His two adult children, Claire and Mitchell, have spouses and children of their own. Claire is part of a "traditional" nuclear family, while Mitchell is gay and lives with his husband and their adopted daughter. The series is filmed in a "mockumentary" style where the characters break the fourth wall by speaking directly to the camera.
