Centering on events that occurred before "Silence of the Lambs," "Hannibal" follows Dr. Hannibal Lecter as he works as a forensic psychologist. Dapper in a designer suit, Hannibal meets Will Graham, an FBI agent, and Jack Crawford, his superior. Their collaboration brings you deeper into the world of the serial killer. Crawford and Graham are researching a current serial killer that takes his killing work into another realm. Creating artistic sculptures with his victims, the killer is intelligent and leaves no obvious clues behind. Graham has the unique ability to put himself in the killer's shoes, however. Graham focuses intently at the crime scenes and pieces the crime together in his mind. As Graham dives deeper into the killer's psyche, he visits Dr. Lecter to help him divide reality from his visions seen at the crime scenes. Hannibal respects Graham and finds him intriguing. Their late-night sessions keep Hannibal informed of all the detective work. Although helpful on the exterior, Hannibal has his own plots afoot that rival the deranged serial killer. Graham is slowly pulled into Hannibal's world and sees events from a different angle that change him forever.
