Lyra is an orphan who has stumbled upon a dark secret. Through the use of a substance known as Dust Lyra is able to move between worlds with Will, a boy who may be able to shed light on a series of kidnappings. One of the worlds opened up by Dust is that of the daemons, animal familiars that are attached to every human being. Lyra will have to navigate this world and many others with Will in order to solve the mysteries of his dark materials.
