Serving as a prequel to Robert Louis Stevenson's Treasure Island, Black Sails is the story of a young John Silver and his life of piracy and adventure on the high seas. Silver starts his adventures by joining the crew of Captain Flint's ship as their cook. From the first episode, viewers are drawn in with promises of mutiny, treasure and battles at sea. Silver finds himself in a hot spot when he is accused of theft and must work to clear his name. The show features fictional characters as well as historical figures such as Anne Bonny, Charles Vane and Calico Jack.
