Alexander Legarde, a veteran chef who holds a coveted three-star status, finds himself in conflict with Stanislas Matter, the CEO of a restaurant group, who wants to undermine the chef's reputation. Matter's's agenda is to discredit the validity of Legarde's beloved tradition of classical French cuisine in favor of the current trend towards molecular gastronomy. Matter's ambition to abandon the time-honored approach threatens to cost Legarde his restaurant and possibly his career. Legarde finds an unlikely ally in a Jacky, a talented rookie, and the two of them undertake a mission to save the good name of the classical method.
