The series begins with Jenna, your average adolescent desperately trying to survive the awkward teenage years. She's a nice girl trying to fit in with her peers but bully Sadie is determined to make Jenna's life miserable. Complicating matters is Jenna's relationship with Matty, the boy she loses her virginity to. The problem? He wants to keep their relationship a secret. Worse, a misunderstanding has Jenna's parents and school convinced she tried to commit suicide. What's a girl to do? Luckily, Jenna has her two best friends, Ming and Tamara by her side. Jenna documents her life in an online blog. Throughout the series, Jenna deals with increasing popularity, new boyfriends, and a pregnancy scare. Like many other teens, she makes her share of mistakes.
