Chicago Fire is a gripping story about the lives of the firefighters and paramedics of a fire department in the city of Chicago. The show's main characters are leaders of an engine company and truck company, whose men have very different roles, and viewers are exposed to how these companies work together. Although these leaders may not always get along, Chicago Fire shows the brotherhood within a fire department and the bonds that allow these companies to work together. This television show presents real-life scenarios that firefighters and their families face on a daily basis, both on a personal and professional basis. The show offers an inside glimpse into the various types of rescue missions firefighters and paramedics respond to, including house fires, arson investigations, water rescues, and more. Chicago Fire also shows conflicts the firefighters and paramedics face with gangs, murders, drunk driving accidents, and managing personal relationships while in a high stress and dangerous line of work. This show is a drama, but also has periods of light-heartedness that provide some comic relief.
