After Jesus Quintana gets released from prison and catches back up with his friend Petey, the two go on a crime spree, accompanied by a new sidekick named Marie, who worked as a shampooer in a hair salon. The trio begins committing a number of petty crimes, and more serious ones, such as stealing cars, like the vintage one they took that had been parked in front of an upscale beauty spa. When the gang goes on a wild joyride with the expensive car, it's not long before the owner of it catches them and ends up shooting Petey. Though wounded, he and his two partners-in-crime still manage to flee.
