Katie is a struggling actress who unexpectedly finds herself on the cusp of stardom when she lands the starring role in the mini-series adaptation of a wildly popular erotic novel. Paul is her loveable stoner boyfriend who is less than thrilled with the idea of his girlfriend participating in the sexually explicit project. Tensions arises further when Paul discovers that the male lead in the mini-series is a hunky Hollywood movie star.
