In 1976, the Olmedo family decides to move from the Spanish countryside to a more urban area in search of a better life. They're not rich and the move could make them poorer, but they come to believe they've made the right choice when they find an affordable, fully-furnished apartment in Madrid. While parents Manolo and Candela work, 17-year-old Amparo watches over the rest of the family, including her ill grandfather, Fermin, and two young brothers Pepe and Rafael. The move appears to give them a solid foundation until... unexplainable events start to occur that make them terrified of their home: Amparo and her charges observe objects moving on their own. They also receive frightening messages. When they suddenly face a horrifying loss, the Olmedos realize that they must find help before they lose everything to the evil.
