After losing his girlfriend to what appears to be an attack of a serial killer, PJ turns to local sheriff's deputy John Marshall to try to track down the madman. Marshall is dealing with demon's of his own, including an ailing father, an estranged daughter and his own alcoholism. As the body count continues to grow, word begins to spread that the killer may not actually be human. Working with his partner Julia Robson, Marshall tries to manage his crumbling personal life and a town that is determined to take matters into their own hands.
