This thriller finds Jim Reed, a retired, U.S. Marine veteran in the wintery backwoods of North Maine on a hunting trip where he mistakes a running woman for a deer and shoots her. When he reaches the dying woman, he discovers a bag filled with cash. He decides to hide the money, returns to his R.V. and learns she was part of a gang that robbed a casino earlier that day. Suspecting the hidden cache is part of the proceeds, he retrieves the bag only to find that the other gang members are tracking him with assault weapons, and instead of being the hunter, he is now the prey.
