A Mexican Los Angeles resident, Beatriz, turns her kindness into a career as a holistic healer who focuses on overall improvement through massage, sound and other therapies. After a neighbor kills one of her goats, her car then fails to start after an appointment with a wealthy white client. The client invites Beatriz to stay for dinner. Her less glamorous clothes and skin color make Beatriz stand out among the dinner guests. When a selfish billionaire real estate developer whose personality conflicts with everything Beatriz represents repeatedly insults her, Beatriz tries to find a way out of this worse situation.
