Two women, Eve and Villanelle, have a chance encounter in Paris that will change the course of both their lives. Eve is a bored, frustrated security services officer working at a desk job when she gets transferred to a new department. There, she meets Villanelle, a notorious assassin. Eve becomes obsessed with Villanelle and begins trying to track the killer down. Villanelle takes a liking to Eve and begins taunting her, which leads to the two women becoming entwined, resulting in a deadly game of cat and mouse.
