Before his fame inspired the toy, Buzz Lightyear was just another Space Ranger with Star Command. However, a fateful test mission goes terribly wrong and leaves Lightyear and other Star Command recruits marooned. Lightyear discovers that he has both landed in a different land and in a different time. Lightyear and his companions must find a way to escape this planet to find safety. Their battle to survive will be made more perilous by the evil Emperor Zurg who is determined to destroy Star Command.
