Archie, Betty, Jughead and Veronica are all about to begin their sophomore year of high school. The death over the summer of the school quarterback, Jason, has put a dark shadow over the start of the year and threatened the careful web of secrets holding the town together. Archie does not want to try out for Jason?s spot on the team. Partly due to his affair with the school's music teacher, he's decided music is his future. Veronica is quickly drawn to Archie and both a friendship and rivalry with Betty, but she is also hiding that her recent move to town is a result of her father?s imprisonment. Jughead is writing a novel about the town?s secrets, only to find that some of the most damning are his own. As the year goes on, evidence mounts that Jason?s death was murder. Every question exposes more fragile threads that could tear the town apart.
