Ben Harmon and his wife Vivien move from to Los Angeles. The family tries to piece themselves back together after the betrayal of Ben's affair. Vivien has a hard time with forgiveness. Violet, their teenage daughter, acts out by cutting herself. Their housekeeper, Moira, has been in the house for years. She found the previous owners dead in the home. The house, housekeeper and the occupants grow creepy and scary as time progresses. The neighbors lend an aura of strangeness to the atmosphere too.
