Revenge takes place within The Hamptons of New York, where the rich and the powerful live in their luxurious beach houses. Emily Thorne seeks revenge on her father's death by stirring up drama and causing harm to the scandalous Grayson family. Emily Thorne, previously known as Amanda Clark, switches identities with a friend that she meets while in a youth detention center. This allows her to move back to The Hamptons without anyone suspecting her of being back for her revenge. Emily forms relationships with those who she cares about most such as Nolan Ross, while taking down the ones who she has believed had played a part in her father's death.
