Dagny Taggart is a railway executive who is struggling through a dystopian society mired in inefficiency. The economy threatens to collapse as more and more of the nation's best and brightest, from artists to CEOs, mysterious disappear. They are going to join the phantom-like John Galt in his strike against federal regulation, moral obligation and altruism. She becomes more and more mired in this new realm of thinking as time progresses and she comes closer to fully realizing who John really is.
