Jamesy Boy, a young punk fascinated by the street life, is in training to be a thug ? invincible on the street but all too vulnerable in prison. Based on a real-life situation, the film portrays gang life in the city in all its gritty day-to-day life. Shootings and the inevitable aftermath of retaliation, the death of innocents and the jubilation of punishing the enemy before he finds you. Jamesy Boy also shows how the court system treats the accused and how parents of young offenders try and fail to get appropriate intervention for their children. When Jamesy Boy is finally sent to an adult prison, he encounters the reality of the thug life and finds it doesn?t match the romanticized view he had when he joined a gang. Luckily, because of a mentor inside the prison, Jamesy Boy becomes James the Man.
