Four children, who have been out of contact with their parents since they went on a summer break, are reunited at their grandparents' house. While exploring the countryside in their toy cars, they discover an old well and an abandoned house near a large oak tree. Inside the house, they meet a couple, the adult owners of the house. The kids play around in the attic and discover discarded objects with magical powers. While playing with one of the objects, the children's joy and innocence get suddenly tinged with a hint of horror at what they have found. After exploring their newfound ability in the nearby woods, they discover they have hidden powers.
