Anne is a young girl with a bright academic future ahead of her. She's very successful in school and has plenty of excellent opportunities open to her. Right before her final exams, Anne discovers she's gotten pregnant. Her brilliant future and social life begin to fade as she struggles to pick the right path. In the 1960s in France, abortions were illegal and socially frowned down upon. Anne must decide if she's willing to take on the shame of abortion and even commit a crime to keep her future on track.
