When a 17-year-old high school student named Zoe witnesses one of her classmates named Chris planting a mysterious device in a nearby field one day while she's on her way to school, she decides to just see it as some kind of prank. But when she arrives to class, she and the other students soon discover that they are in danger when several smoke bombs start going off on the inside and outside of the building. As Chris and a few other students carry out their plot of shooting up the school while live-streaming it on social media, Zoe goes into survival mode to try to save not only herself, but her classmates as well.
