Hawaii 5-0 follows the work of a special state police task force established by the governor of Hawaii to combat serious crime on the islands. Steve McGarrett, a former naval commander, has recently returned to Oahu to hunt down the man who killed his father. The governor appoints McGarrett as the leader of the specialized task force. He and his team investigate various instances of murder, terrorism and organized crime.
