Anna Fox, a psychologist, finds it difficult to find the courage needed to leave her home. Crippled by intense agoraphobia, she rarely ventures out into the city beyond the door of her brownstone and has seemingly no connection to other people. One day a neighbor reaches out to Anna, setting the foundation for a relationship. Made curious by this new relationship, Anna spies on the world outside. She witnesses a violent event that places her in the center of a gruesome crime.
