After centuries of torturing souls in hell, Lucifer decides to take a break and hit up the streets of L.A. as a wealthy and charismatic nightclub owner who loves wine, women and only the occasional torture chamber. His hedonistic lifestyle is cut short, however, by a murder investigation that brings LAPD detective Chloe Dekker across his path. Intrigued by the detective and fascinated by the investigation, Lucifer decides to become her civilian consultant as they chase criminals across the city. But what happens when his amusements clash with the detective's morals? And what is Lucifer going to do when the angels and demons of his past come knocking to take him back to hell?
