Robot Chicken is a sketch-comedy series that utilizes the "clay-mation" technique of stop motion animation. The comedy skit show mocks pop culture from current-day and ties in references older fads as well and uses the old-style feel of stop motion to create an "innocence meets gruesome" feel that has been embraced by many late night television viewers. Few shows could successfully pay homage to Frankenstein and A Clockwork Orange in just the opening sequence, and this scene sets the tone for Robot Chicken's complex humor; the show will make you laugh, but also provide episodes you can re-watch and discover new references in again and again.
