Will Schuester has a dream, and that is to empower high school students through the love of music and performing. He forms a glee club, and most of its members are outcasts in some way, but they find a place to belong with there, as well as the motivation to strive toward a common goal of winning singing competitions. Key founding members of the club include diva Rachel, star football player Finn, wheelchair-bound Artie, flamboyantly gay Kurt and several others. Students come and go, touched by Will's nurturing help and thwarted by the machinations of vindictive cheerleading coach Sue Sylvester.
