This spin-off from 'Chicago Fire' follows the police officers that make up Chicago's District 21. The police are divided by a very thin line - those in uniform work the streets, going head to head with the gritty criminals everyday, while those in the Intelligence Unit wear plainclothes as they investigate crimes like drug trafficking and organized crime, often undercover. Hank Voight is in charge of his specially selected Intelligence Unit. He's a man that isn't afraid to cross the line to get the bad guy and sometimes it puts his officers at risk.
