Elementary follows a rather eccentric and different version of Sherlock Holmes. Whereas the original story takes place in London, in this version Sherlock Holmes is a drug addict, who after a stint in rehab is forced to travel to Manhattan, NY by his father in order to keep him out of the public eye. He's forced to live with the person who will become his new partner, Joan Watson, formerly a successful but now disgraced surgeon who now works as an addiction specialist. Holmes begins right back up where he left off, as a police consultant, and Watson follows him on his investigations. It doesn't take long for Watson to realize she has a natural ability as an investigator, and together the two solve some of New York's worst crimes.
