When a young suburban teen gymnast finds a wounded bird's strange egg in the woods, she brings it home. What follows is a hellish existence once the egg cracks open. The creature that emerges becomes both friends to the teen and a foe to everyone else. While dealing with the creature's exploits, she must also deal with a self-serving, blogging mother. As the creature changes, the teen is forced to hide it. She must also attempt to protect her family from the horrors she cannot control.
