Richard is a world-renowned painter and is preparing for an exhibition when he is diagnosed with dementia. Claire, his wife, attempts to not let others discover the diagnosis before an exhibition featuring his work, and works to hide the increase of his symptoms. She also tries to reconnect Richard to his daughter and grandson, whom he had not maintained a relationship with. Claire, too, was previously a painter before she decided to take a step back due to the successes of her husband. She begins painting again during this time and must make a difficult decision about whether to make her work public.
