?Lucifer? depicts the life of Lucifer Morningstar, once an angel before getting exiled from heaven following a rebellion and cast to hell to serve as the devil. Weary of punishing people, Lucifer renounces his throne as the Lord of Hell in defiance to his father, God, and deserts his kingdom for Los Angeles. As a club owner in Los Angeles, Lucifer aims at understanding humanity and gets caught up in a murder investigation. Using his ability to manipulate people into disclosing their deepest desires, he aids the Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD) in solving the murder case. Lucifer acquires a consultancy role at the LAPD, where he meets detective Chloe Decker and together encounter supernatural beings as they work out crimes and blossom a relationship.
