After the family of Tanjiro Kamado is killed in a brutal way, and his sister has been turned into a demon, he joins forces with two other boys, Inosuke Hashibira, who was raised by wild boars, and Zenitsu Agatsuma, who has special powers when he sleeps. They all go aboard the Mugen Train, also known as the Infinity Train, to try to find out why more than 40 people have gone missing. They work with an expert swordsman named Hashira Kyojuro Rengoku in an effort to defeat a demon who has been terrorizing people and destroying every demon slayer who has tried to get rid of it.
