Canadian horror movie delivers a different spin on the zombie formula when the dead rise to terrorize a First Nations reservation in 1981. Starting with salmon, the infection progresses to humans and six months later the reservation has turned into one of the last safe places after it is learned that Indigenous people can't be turned into zombies. Blood Quantum refers to the laws used to determine First Nations ancestry and in addition to scares it delivers trenchant commentary on the colonial heritage of North America.
