Kate Barkley is the wife of a long-serving British military officer who is deployed for yet another tour in Afghanistan. She leads a group of other military wives who have their servicemen abroad, who decide to start a choir. After a rocky start, the group coalesces into a lovely band of singers who go so far as to impress the top military brass on base, who invite them to sing for the Festival of Remembrance. The choir prepares to perform the largest show of their lives for those who have soldiers abroad and have lost loved ones in the service to Britain. Together they find that family and overcoming odds on the homefront is just as hard a battle as those in the deserts.
