In a dystopian future, giant monsters roam the Earth and humans have been driven underground. Survivor Joel learns that Aimee, his high school girlfriend from pre-monster times, lives in a seaside town a mere 80 miles away. Despite all the dangers lurking along the way, Joel decides he can no longer cower in fear underground. He decides to take the perilous journey to find Aimee and see if their old love can be rekindled.
