The Dutton family is the generations-long owner of the largest cattle ranch in the United States. Bordering Yellowstone National Park and an Indian reservation, the ranch is under constant threat from land developers who want to mine it and Native Americans who accuse the family of cattle rustling. Navigating these difficult obstacles proves challenging even for strong-willed John, the father of three adult children who are each involved in running the ranch. Conflicts with the local population and his own family lead John to wonder if he can keep the ranch that has been in his family for more than a hundred years together for the next generation.
