It's not uncommon for a Hollywood celebrity to have a personal assistant to help them make it through each day. Heather Anderson is no different. In fact, some might describe her relationship with her assistant, Jill LeBeau, as more of a friendship or sisterhood. After Heather's life begins to spiral out of control because of the fallout of an affair with a Korean "K-pop" star that includes a public breakup with her ex-boyfriend all over the tabloids, Heather relies on Jill more than ever before. She has insomnia. She can't break the contract for a film that she doesn't want to work on. She starts to suffer anxiety and fear for her safety at home. She asks Jill for help her get a gun. Then Jill finds Heather dead one morning. The gun is the only evidence at the scene. The investigating detective believes that Jill committed the crime. With no one to help her, she assumes a fake identity and explores the darker side of L.A. looking for answers.
