The Homeland series is a psychological thriller which portrays the life of CIA operative, Carrie Mathison, who suffers from bipolar disorder. Carrie, along with guidance from her long-time mentor Saul Berenson, must navigate the intricacies and consequences of her disorder and the direct impact it has on her work. Through her disorder, Carrie believes that a U.S. Marine sniper, taken captive as a prisoner of war, has been turned by Al-Qaeda and is planning a terrorist attack in the United States. The show chronicles the story that develops as a result of this premise.
