When sisters Abby and Jess were little girls, their mother left and their father had to work hard to make a decent life for them. Their father helped build up the town of Chesapeake Shores, Maryland, where Jess is attempting to remain in control of the Inn at Eagle Point. She enlists the help of Abby, who is juggling a high-profile career in New York, her young daughters, and her own divorce. Complicating Abby's return to Chesapeake Shores are the return of her estranged mother and the reappearance of her old flame.
