An adventurous traveler, Yossi Ghinsberg, and his new friends are enticed by romanticized stories of the Amazon. Hoping to escape the monotony of everyday life, they follow an enigmatic stranger, who promises to be their guide, into the Bolivian jungle. The travelers soon realize the harsh realities of the jungle and human nature after being abandoned by their guide. Their idealized expedition of a lifetime becomes a horrific struggle for survival in the wild.
