In Arctic Norway, where the landscape remains ice- and snow-covered much of the year, the small, quiet and relatively crime-free town of Fortitude offers new commercial opportunities through nearby waters filled with marine life and plans to expand exploration of the area and construct an ice hotel. Fortitude's governor, Hildur Odegard, hopes to promote the town as a must-see tourist destination... until a sudden murder, a brutal attack, makes her question that decision. An outside investigator along with local police soon make an amazing discovery that leads them to a horrible truth about unspeakable horrors that dwell beneath the ice.
