Matt Taylor, a dating expert, goes on a book tour to support his self-help guide. He promotes the idea that in order to be ready for future relationships, you have to ignore the past. While on tour, Matt meets a celebrity therapist named Kristin, who doubts whether the methods he talks about in his book actually work. Although they are diametric opposites, Matt falls in love with Kristin. He is forced to come to terms with how a past relationship ended - exactly the opposite approach he recommends in his own book.
