Based on a true story about one man's struggle with mental illness and his dream to lead the Eastern Knights chess club to the National Chess Championship in Aukland, New Zealand. The story focuses on Genesis Potini's redemption after suffering from a mental breakdown. He relates to the kids in the chess club as part of his own redemption and to pass on his legacy as a New Zealand Chess Champion. He comes up against the environment which these kids live, struggling to raise their expectations and give them a hope to embrace life.
