Identical nine-year-old boys, Elias and Lukas, have been waiting eagerly for their mother's return to their country home after she left them to have cosmetic surgery. Yet, when she returns, they begin to fear that she is not the same woman because she looks and acts so differently than they remember. She won't allow them to play in the house. She also won't acknowledge Lukas' existence and only speaks to Elias. After finding a picture of their mother with another woman who looks similar, they decide that they must perform terrifying actions to force her to tell them the truth.
