Medical personnel in emergency rooms across the nation face life and death situations on a daily basis. The largest emergency room in the country, LA County Memorial Emergency Room, is over-crowded and never quiet. The split second decisions made by the nurses and doctors, under the most difficult circumstances, are the difference between life and death for their patients. Working long hours on little or no sleep, these life-saving heroes go from one tense situation to another with staunch determination, as they struggle with the reality of saving lives.
