A POW returns home to a hero's welcome. A CIA agent obtains intel about a POW who's been recruited by al-Qaeda. Such is the premise of "Homeland," which follows Carrie Mathison as she works outside the CIA system to investigate threats of domestic terrorism, and Sergeant Nicholas Brody, who returns home after eight years as a prisoner of war. A convoluted relationship between Carrie, Brody and the CIA ensues as she endeavors to infiltrate al-Qaeda, uncover domestic terrorists and thwart plans for an attack on U.S. soil, often while at odds with her superiors at the CIA and battling her own personal demons.
