In this period drama set in the much more conservative years of the 1950s, a respected doctor named Bill Masters and a curious student named Virginia Johnson decide to tackle the touchy subject of human sexuality with pioneering research that takes them down roads they couldn't have imagined. These unbeaten paths lead to adulterers and addicts and prostitutes and eventually, to each other, as they find out exactly how important and pervasive sex is in the lives of every man and woman on the planet. This is loosely based on the true story of Doctor William Masters and Virginia Johnson.
