Awkward follows the life of Jenna Hamilton, a 15-year-old who has an unfortunate accident than many mistakenly take to be a suicide attempt. Struggling to find her identity even prior to the accident, Jenna begins to feel invisible afterwards as her friends and schoolmates attach a stigma to her. The series follow Jenna as she attempts to overcome the stigma by writing a blog that helps her to grow as a person. Awkward also addresses the typical misunderstandings and mishaps that occur during the formative years of life, made more difficult by a situation that isn't what it seems.
